News…from
KBGL Station Manager Phil Grossardt
KBGL is officially
10 years old!
…and today, we are one of the few “Classic Hits/Oldies” stations around. Our music format has evolved considerably since 2001, with songs being added from the 70s, 80s and even early 90s. Sadly one day, some of this great older music may disappear altogether—much like Big Band music did when Rock & Roll arrived in the 1950s.
But wait! “Rock & Roll is here to stay—it will never die!” Here’s how you can keep this format alive: 1-E-mail us and let the management and sales departments know how important KBGL is to you; 2-Advertise. If you’re a business, we’ve got an impressive coverage area with a format that still reaches the influential Baby Boomer Generation; 3-ALWAYS fill out and return your Arbitron surveys if you receive one. Arbitron ratings tell us overall how much listenership we have and how we stack up against our competition. Ad agencies make buys based on ratings, so the better our numbers look, the more ad time they buy. That translates into revenue which means we’ll be profitable and will be able to keep playing the Greatest Hits of All Time for you to enjoy. 4-Make sure you contact us any time you have questions or comments. Your input is very important!
One of the most gratifying things in our 10 years has been you, the listener. Every day individuals from Great Bend, Hays, Larned and beyond tune in 106.9 FM and we truly appreciate that. I’ve been the Beagle’s station manager since its inception in 2001 and I am grateful to our owner Richard Hull and to Hull Broadcasting’s General Manager Nancy Baumrucker in Hays for their guidance and support over the years. Thanks to all who’ve made our first 10 years great—and may God Bless the Beagle in its next 10 years!
