Weather

For Cathy Carrier, weather was a family affair. Her father Cecil was one of the first meteorologists certified in the nation, and has worked for the National Weather Service and reported weather for many television and radio stations in Wichita. Cathy watched her Dad do forecasts when she was young, and picked up a lot of weather knowledge at home.  Cathy began working with Cecil, and they both began reporting weather  in 1988. Cathy says that she is lucky to have a job that is fun, keeps her laughing and at home with her four children.

Listen for the latest forecast from the Carrier Weather Service at the top of each hour, following news from The Associated Press.  Listen for updates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bill Lyall
Born just minutes from the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, Bill got his first taste of radio as a boy scout when the scout leader (an electrician) let him talk to people across the country on a ham radio! Bill served his country in the Army as a nuclear weapons inspector & traveled extensively thru Europe - attending lots of rock concerts (including Jimi Hendrix just weeks before his death). Bill's radio career has spanned nearly 25 years including jobs as sales rep, newscaster & on-air talent (his love). Bill's a single dad of a lovely college age daughter who, in her youth, would actually sleep in the studio while Dad was on the air working! Bill loves to ski, cook, race bicycles, travel, work with his raku pottery & hang with his pets - truly a product of the Age of Aquarius! bill@greathitradio.com
